We are an independent music and entertainment group based in Camden Town, London. Founded in 1995, we have been the force behind some of the biggest dance music artists of all time. NewState sell over 1 million units of music a year, mainly premium branded dance music compilations. DJ gods such as Tiësto & Ferry Corsten broke through as recording artists with NewState and we are home to global EDM and dance music brands such as Pure Music, Pacha and Cream.
NewState were one of the first independent labels in Europe with a direct contract with the then-emerging iTunes digital music store platform in 2005. Growth in NewState’s digital distribution arm has out-paced the market and now NewState Digital provides services to 50 third-party music labels in over 50 digital music stores globally and its data warehouses store over 15,000 tracks.
Along the way Cypher, a new media PR company, and Zip Design, a brand marketing and graphic design studio have been created and nurtured alongside the core NewState music company, providing a 360 degree service for music artists and rights owners. These other divisions of NewState also take advantage of third-party work and outsourcing from large corporate organisations needing a touch of ‘street cool’ credibility.
Their clients include tier-one brands such as MTV Networks, United Nations-UNPFA, Aston Martin Lagonda, Spin Master & Yamaha; entertainment brands such as 19 (Pop Idol), Manga, Viacom / Last.fm, & Capcom; blue chip & high street brands like Gymbox, The River Cafe & the Big Chill / Camino Group; major music groups such as Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, Carlin Music and Universal Music Group; as well as a selection of the world’s leading record labels and artists including Black Sabbath, The Saturdays, Girls Aloud, The Rolling Stones & Fat Boy Slim.
NewState was an early pioneer of the development of 3rd party software applications in smartphones, when Apple launched their App Store back in 2007. NewState launched their first app with technology partners Yuza, with the first EDM / Dance Music artist app for Paul van Dyk in 2008 for the iPhone /iOS platform, followed by the NOW Music Quiz app in 2010 and the current suite of apps for Aston Martin Lagonda.
